Mission & Pillars

Living Hope Neighborhood Church exists to give our lives to make disciples for the glory of God.

Gospel

The gospel of Jesus Christ transforms lives and communities. It is the good news that Christ came to die for our sins and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. The message and power of the gospel is of "first importance" both for the believer and the non-believer (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Gather

The gospel has made us a family who gather regularly to worship together,  care for one another, and encourage each other. The church is not just like family, but rather the church is family. We desire to authentically live out Biblical community (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Corinthians 12:12-20).

Go

The gospel compels us to be a family on mission together locally (near) and globally (far). The Lord has commissioned His followers to preach the Gospel and to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8). The gospel is the fuel that propels us to do evangelism, acts of mercy and compassion, and contend for justice on behalf of others.

Values

Dependency

We desire to be a church devoted to prayer in all things, both individually and corporately.  The Christian walk is a lifestyle of dependence (John 15:5; Psalm 105:4; Acts 1:14; Acts 2:42).

Discipleship

It is our aim to see every ministry partner at LHNC growing as a disciple and making disciples.  Discipleship is not a ministry of the church, it is the ministry of the church (Mark 3:14; Matthew 4:19; 1 Thessalonians 2:8; 2 Timothy 2:2).

Diversity

We will work intentionally to see that our church body reflects the ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, and generational diversity of our neighborhood and city (Genesis 1:27; Acts 17:26; Revelation 5:9; Revelation 7:9-10; Matthew 28:19).

Development

We are committed to the wholistic development of our community through principles of Christian community development.  This includes the spiritual, social, economic, and educational needs of our community (Deuteronomy 24:19-22; Micah 6:8; 1 John 3:16-18; Luke 4:17-21, 7:20-22).
